New Rijksmuseum

The Rijksmuseum is one of the most famous museums in the Netherlands and contains works of the great Dutch painters. Due to an ever expanding collection and the wish to get the monumental building ready for a new century, the entire museum is being renovated. Besides creating underground storage facilities, a large underground courtyard was realized which will become the new central entrance. CRUX Engineering is involved in this project as consultant on the geotechnical risks involved, and the monitoring strategy.

Not too far from the Rijksmuseum is the Stedelijk museum. At the Stedelijk museum a large new wing is constructed for their collection of modern art. Just as with the Rijksmuseum, CRUX Engineerings experience with geotechnical risks management and monitoring of construction works in city centers has made sure the new wing can be constructed without damaging the monumental existing museum.
